This course provides a critical overview of the empirical literature on clinical supervision including theoretical approaches, techniques, relationship and process issues, and ethical and legal considerations. Students will develop conceptual knowledge, skills and self-awareness concerning these topics through in-class instruction and activities, readings, and assignments. The purpose of this course is to help the supervisors-in-training to formulate the knowledge and skills necessary for the supervision in the counseling field.

Student Assignments and Performance Expectations:
This course has a 45-hour requirement.
15 hours In-class seminar over two Saturdays
15 hours Reading textbook and empirical articles
15 hours Two graded assignments

Students must meet the board requirements of licensure to qualify to participate in training.

Brooke Montoya, PhD Candidate, LPC-S, LADC-S, CHt teaches full-time at UCO and adjunct at SNU. She owns Inner Work Holistic Wellness & Counseling and has been in private practice since 2015. Previously she worked at Pivot, Choices Counseling Center and Joseph Harp Correctional Facility. She is a Certified supervisor for LPC and LADC and a Certified Hypnotherapist.
